The REP (Reputation) system is back in NBA 2K25, providing both new and veteran players with a way to track their dedication to the franchise. REP serves as a key indicator of a player’s performance in online matches and the total number of games played.
A notable addition this year is the integration of REP into MyTeam. Players in MyTeam can earn ongoing rewards and have the chance to unlock a special G.O.A.T. Jayson Tatum for reaching the necessary REP tier.
MyCareer & The City: REP Rewards
Here’s a breakdown of REP rewards in MyCareer and The City, organized by tier:
Rookie II: Affiliation-branded Player Banner and Teammote
Rookie III: 10 Gatorade Boosts, Skill Boost, and an Emote
Rookie IV: Ability to remove shirt in The City and a MyCourt mural
Rookie V: Access to two additional badge-improving drills
Starter I: Two-Way Tenacity

As expected, reaching the Legend tier requires an enormous time commitment, with players needing to complete hundreds of games. For instance, after playing over 20 games in The City shortly after release, we barely reached Rookie I.

How to Earn REP
Players can earn REP by participating in online games in The City, REC, and other MyCareer modes. MyTeam REP is accumulated through online play as well.
For MyCareer, 2K will occasionally host special events where players can earn double REP for a limited time. Otherwise, players should expect to put in significant time on the courts.
To quickly earn Gold REP and gain access to the Auction House in MyTeam, participating in Triple Threat Park is recommended. Here, players can team up with two others or compete in 3v3 matches against other players. Similar to The City, players can visit courts to join games.
